"Information technology'south Christmas Time Again" is a Christmas song past American vocal group Backstreet Boys. The song was written by Backstreet Boys members Nick Carter and Howie Dorough along with Mika Guillory and Morgan Taylor Reid in early October 2012.[3] It is the beginning song by the Backstreet Boys to characteristic Kevin Richardson'south vocals in six years. Richardson left the group in 2006 and rejoined in 2012. It is as well the first vocal released under the grouping's own label K-BAHN. It'southward too their second seasonal vocal following their original Christmas song "Christmas Fourth dimension" which was released xvi years from information technology.
A sneak preview of "Information technology's Christmas Time Again" was posted on the group's official website on November 1, 2012 and AOL Music premiered the full song on November 5, 2012.[5] "It's Christmas Fourth dimension Over again" was released digitally on Nov 6, 2012.[6] The Backstreet Boys performed the song publicly for the very first fourth dimension on November iv, 2012 at the taping of Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade at Disneyland, CA. On November fourteen, 2012, the grouping debuted the song on national Television set on The Talk and on December 19, 2012 they performed the song on Tardily Night with Jimmy Fallon. In December 2013, the Backstreet Boys performed this vocal in the annual "Christmas in Washington" TV special which was as well attended past the President of the United States Barack Obama and his family.[7]

The Backstreet Boys had been working on their eighth studio album since mid-2012 and they originally aimed to have something out before the end of the twelvemonth,[8] just subsequently pushed back the release date for the unmarried to early 2013.[ix] When they got the opportunity to perform at Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, Disney gave them the option to sing their previous original Christmas song "Christmas Time" or a classic,[ten] but they figured they would write a new Christmas song instead which would also serve equally a souvenir to their fans while they're waiting for the new album.[11] Dorough and Carter wrote the song in early October 2012 with Morgan Taylor Reid and Mika Guillory in about two hours. Within a week they had the song not only demoed and written, but besides recorded by the remainder of the Backstreet Boys members. They and so presented it to Disney, who chop-chop approved information technology.[10]
Critical reception [edit]
Artistdirect gave the song a positive review and 5 out of 5 stars,[12] describing the song as a "timeless Christmas canticle" with a smoothen acoustic guitar build-up, resounding bells, and soaring 5-part harmonies. Entertainment Weekly also gave the song a positive review, noting that the song has a catchy melody, a little "boy band hook," and a five-part harmony.[13]

The music video for this song is animated, and was premiered on artist direct.[xvi] It features the members of the Backstreet Boys as cartoon characters and follows the story of a couple who abound onetime together and how they spend their Christmas over the years.
